Dear Friend,

As a valued supporter and advocate of marginalized communities, we invite you to join MinKwon Center for Community Action as a sponsor of our Anniversary Gala on Thursday, November 16, 2023.

As we continue through the myriad of challenges, such as building back from COVID, anti-Asian violence, natural disasters, wars and rising nuclear threats, and continued assaults on our rights including immigrant rights, we are reminded of our late founder Yoon Han Bong, who shared core life principles that continue to guide our organization especially through challenging times. The theme of this year’s gala, Rooted in Social Justice, is derived from the principle that no matter how difficult or challenging our current lives are, to always strive to center our values, live authentically, and live right. 

Throughout this year, our communities have demonstrated unwavering resilience and commitment. We saw community members volunteering and donating, even though they were struggling themselves. Our community members joined us in taking the streets as we raised our voices to demand the restoration and preservation of the DACA program, testified at numerous redistricting hearings, volunteered every week to feed hundreds of food insecure Flushing residents at our Flushing Food Collaborative’s food pantry, and hundreds of our local business owners joined our Hate Free Zone campaign to ensure hate against any community has no home here.

This year’s event will bring together community leaders and stakeholders from around the country to raise support for MinKwon Center for Community Action and our critical programs and campaigns. MinKwon Center invites you to join us in this important work by sponsoring our 2023 Gala and providing a kind gift.
