Position Title: Microbiome/NGS lab Technician 

Position Type: Part Time/ Full time

Working Authorization: OPT Holder Available

Location: Englewood, CO

Position Summary

The Microbiome/NGS Lab technician will assist lab managers in preparing sample libraries and running NGS cycles using the family of Illumina NGS systems (e.g. MiniSeq, MiSeq, NextSeq) on a weekly basis.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Samples shipping to another CLIA lab

• Prepare DNA/RNA extraction

• Prepare NGS libraries 2-3 days/week using the proper lab protocol

• Use LIMS to retrieve the proper sample sheet when needed

• Run NGS cycles and monitor the status and progress of each cycle

• Perform washes in between each cycle for maintenance

• Assist with other job duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, or any related major that involves a combination of Biology or a current student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in these areas is required.

• Problem-solving skills required.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel) required.

• Willingness to learn and a positive attitude required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Interest in the NGS experiment is strongly preferred.

• Master’s Degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, or any related major that involves a combination of Biology or a current student pursuing 

• Korean Speaker prefered

Additional Details

6 month probation prior to consider a Full time job

Physical Requirements

• This position will be in a laboratory. The necessary tools and equipment will be provided to help the intern perform the essential job duties.
