The purchasing agent is responsible for initiating purchase orders based on business requirements and i
nventory levels. Including but not limited to negotiating with vendors, placing orders for industrial quantities of raw materials. The Purchasing Agent is required to conduct extensive research about particular goods and services before they make purchasing decisions.
Role and Responsibilities: 1. Creates and monitors purchase orders, obtain appropriate approvals, track goods in transit, delivery date, and receipt of goods. 2. Obtain price quotes from multiple suppliers. 3. Monitor inventory daily, runs reports and determine what is needs in order to maintain level of inventory. 4. Develops new supply sources as needed. 5. Expedites delayed orders. 6. Resolves issues related to purchaser order, inventory short/over or damage, and replacements. 7. Negotiate best vendor terms, pricing and delivery based on specific budget and schedule requirements.
